Hollywood Glamour Epitomized

Marilyn Monroe, the ultimate icon, is being celebrated this week with a her own film, My Week with Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams. I am so excited to see it and compare all I have read about the starlet with how she is portrayed in the movie. Williams tells Vogue in the October 2011 issue, "I wish that I could play her for the rest of my life because when can you say that you've really solved the riddle?" Referring to Monroe's lifestyle as one of the most beautiful actresses of her time, and some of her best roles as an actress, singer and dancer; yet plagued by depression, fear and paranoia. Unfortunately Marilyn had a difficult childhood and once this came under scrutiny by the media, it troubled Marilyn more than anyone would ever know. Here is an interview Marilyn did shortly before her death, you can hear her real voice and get an idea for how she felt regarding the chaos her fame brought.

work it corporette!

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday! Mine was extra special because since I started my new job I haven't had much time to relax or lounge. So I did plenty of that during my days off. Unfortunately the new job means I have much less time to prowl the web for interesting and fashion savvy news! I know, tragedy. Anyways I want to ponder office clothing and how to make it sexy! Not inappropriately sexy but flirty and providing a tad of inspiration for those boys' imaginations to wander ;) So here are a couple must-haves and good tips for putting the frosting on the cake, if ya know what I mean ...

I am a big ruffles, big sheer and big button-up blouse fan! So this is a double must!
Plus the skirt is great for weekends too!

This jacket is wonderful, light in color with big gold buttons and jeans! Definitely looks better in the sun so you can pop the color and keep it open. The background isnt too bad either.

So this DVF skirt is quite the classic. The pleats, cut and pockets all add to its functionality as well.

Merry Kissmiss

My beautiful and remarkably genuine best friend, who loved Christmas more than anyone I know, would be so excited right now! She would either be in bed on the phone with me with a large glass of red wine or she would be in the living room shaking presents trying to determine if her family got her what she asked for :) This blog is for her.

I knew shopping solved problems

Baha Silk Stole. Alpaca/Silk blend.

Nahrin Earrings. Goldplated finish.

Okay so the story behind this high-end accessory line, A Peace Treaty, is really very unique! Two young women, Farah Malik, a Pakistani Muslim and Dana Arbib, A Libyan Jew, came together to create a beautiful collection of modern accessories made by Middle Eastern and Asian craftsmen (and women) using traditional techniques.

A Peace Treaty offers local artisans job opportunities and the chance to show off their skills at an international level. Their current collections come from Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan and can be seen on their here

Now they have jewelry too and some of the pieces look like bullets, pretty cute, and kind of ironic!

First things first

I admire so many blogs on a daily basis but none have yet to exceed my expectations, so I decided what better than to start my own!

So the major thing on my mind right now is the soon available Lanvin line at H&M .. check out this sexy yet down-to-earth fashion video of the debut line.

The creator Alber Elbaz is so sweet! His inspiration for the line came from a friend of his who said every time she wore a Lanvin dress a man fell inlove with her. Elbaz's goal for H&M was to design clothing that when worn by women they would fall inlove with a man. Hey .. I'm sold!
